A very nice, likely never run (except for brief test trial). K-Line 2321 New York Central (NYC) Dual Motor. O/027 gauge made in 1992. Rks great with all other 3-Rail O/027 gauge trains from Lionel, MTH, Williams, Weaver, etc..
This powerful short engine features dual "maintenance free" can motors, 8 wheel drive, 4 traction tires, conventional transformer control, 3 position electronic reversing. With lock-out switch, operating magnetic front coupler, fixed (non-opening) rear coupler.
Metal frame & handrails, i. Lluminated front LED headlight &. Cab light and great NYC Lightning colors & graphics. Comes with the original K-Line ornamental Horn and I replaced the fragile K-Line plastic bell with a Lionel Aluminum one.The combination of the dual motors, 8 wheel drive, 4 traction tires and an engine weight of over 2 lbs gives this short engine great pulling power. These short (10) S-2 diesels are perfect for O-27 diameter curves (027 layouts) but are just as comfortable on the larger curves as well. The only gripe I had with these engines is the light duct technique that K-Line used to bring the cabin light to the front for the headlight did not really work well... So, I replaced the light duct with a LED for a nice bright headlight whenever track power is on.
I lubed the gears & rollers and replaced all 4 traction tires (old ones dried/stretched) and then briefly tested this engine on my layout and the motors, reversing unit and lights worked fine! Please contact me with any questions at all and please check out my other listings! (to be fair to all I do not accept offers nor end auctions early).
