Lionel 6-8406 New York Central Hudson 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender

  
This NEW, UNUSED Lionel 6-8406. O New York Central Die-Cast Hudson 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender, cab #783, from 1984. This has never been on the tracks and has always been on my display shelf. This was the first modern era reissue of the famous Scale Hudson and is very similar to the 1964 version of the Postwar Era 773. Lionel's 783 offers improved magnetraction for better pulling power.

This locomotive features a die-cast boiler, an open frame motor, Magnetraction, an operating smoke unit with smoke puffing from steam chest, and an operating headlight, and an electronic whistle and Sound of Steam. The scale size of this locomotive, the motor, gear train and E-unit are very similar to the 1950 version of the 773. The smoke unit has been redesigned to allow smoke to also exit the steam chest.
