Some roads like the Missouri Pacific, Pennsylvania and Southern Pacific continued to refine their Atlantics into modern, albeit compact, steam power which could rival the performance of many larger locomotives. Inspired by a Southern Pacific prototype but typical of designs on many railroads at the time, these Atlantics will be right at home in passenger service on your layout.
