Lionel 6-8406 O New York Central Die-Cast Hudson 4-6-4 Steam Loco & Tender #783. This is a Lionel 6-8406 O Gauge New York Central Die-Cast Hudson 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender #783 from 1984. This was the first modern era reissue of the famous Scale Hudson and is very similar to the 1964 version of the Postwar Era 773. It features a die-cast boiler, an open frame motor, Magnetraction, an operating smoke unit with smoke puffing from steam chest, and an operating headlight, and an electronic whistle and Sound of Steam. The tender has 6-wheel trucks and also features a die-cast shell and is the same style as the postwar 2426. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world! Minor scratches and paint nicks, minor surface rust, no dents.
