With its tough, impact-resistant polycarbonate body, operating smoke unit and headlight, marker lights and directionally-controlled tender back-up light, MTH successfully recreated the majesty that caused the New York Central to use the Hudson as their model for passenger transportation advertising.

Details like opening boiler and tender hatches, engineer and fireman figures in the well-lit cab interior, sliding cab windows, operating firebox glow, metal handrails and bell, and synchronized digital quality steam chuffing sound effects, and operating squeaking brakes and steam puffs synchronized to the locomotive's speed, MTH well out did themselves. MTH also kept it easy to run with interchangeable hook & loop and operating knuckle coupler, standard DC power requirements, and measurements of 39 inches x 4 1/8 inches x 5 1/2 inches. Its precision, flywheel-equipped DC can motors and locomotive speed control keeps it running (inside or out) smoothly on R-2 curves (50.8 inches or 1290mm) and 45 mm track. Complete, all original, no rust, may show some sign of being run and/or age.
