This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. There are light nicks and scratches on the surfaces of the locomotive and tender.

Additionally, light spots of paint wear and paint chips are present throughout both items. Dust has collected on their bodies, so the overall appearance of these items may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. Some railings on both items are a little bent. The wheels and rolling pickups show signs of wear. The original box is included.

Features include all brass boiler construction, flywheel coasting drive train, a real coal load, an operating smoke unit, DCRU electronic reverse with lock-out switch, operating knuckle coupler, sprung loaded drivers, real coal load, constant voltage operating headlight and operating marker lights. Introduced at the turn of the 20th century, the 2-8-2 was an innovator breaking from the traditional manufacturing of locomotives, and featuring a larger firebox paving the way for greater speeds at a higher rate of power! The Mikado would undergo a temporary name change after the Pearl Harbor bombing in 1941 shortly going by the McArthur, before eventually going back to the Mikado name after WW2. All original: minute scratches and paint nicks; no rust or missing parts; no distortion of parts.
