Box / Condition: ORIGINAL BOX. Description: Lionel 6-8406 New York Central 4-6-4 Hudson Steam Locomotive. This 1984 model is a continuation of the Lionel Scale Hudson Series. Diecast boiler, chassis and trucks (based on the Lionel 773).

"Long stack" motor as used in the early 1950's Hudson. Diecast tender body (based on the Postwar 2426 Tender).

3-postion plug-type e-unit (as was the original). Smoke Unit with Steam Chest exhaust this feature typically did not work well. It took a LOT of voltage to produce much smoke. Diecast 6-wheel trucks on tender.

Magnetic disc coupler on tender. Equipped with Electronic "Sound of Steam" chuff and Electronic Whistle. (This sound is NOT comparable to RailSounds). The chuff and whistle both work.
