EARLY 1994 MTH 20-3007-1 New York Central 4912 4-6-2 Pacific Steam Engine PrtoS1. Here's another listing by. Lone Star Trains and Collectibles.

Your Classic Era Train Headquarters. Appeals to operators and collectors. Here is a super MTH item from Mike's Train House's. This is the famous NYC 4912 USRA Pacific diecast steam engine and tender from 1994. This is a great work horse steam engine for the layout.

Check out all the detail in the casting. These earliest models used a very heavy thick metal. Has a fresh battery installed. This model was released before Protosounds 2.

It has Protosounds, in which you can program using your transformer or Z-4000 using the codes in the instructions. With the unique sounds of Proto-Sound: Chuffing, whistle, bell, and more.

As early a release as it is, it is in the QSI days of course, so it is not yet DCS. In addition, this is before fan driven smoke units. They used Seuthe smoke units which are nice but near as voluminous as the fan driven version. Also, the battery on these units could be turned on and off.

There is a switch in the tender! Some of the features operate a little differently than in later years--the whistle works in motion but not in the station.

You may be able to program it. Programmable (through transformer) train control system with squeaking brakes, coupler release and more. Real coal load in tender. Metal handrail & decorative whistle.

Missing little cosmetic builders plate on one side; a few small paint rubs on tender. With a COPY of original instructions for a similar engine that has the same mechanics. SCROLL DOWN to see more pictures which you can enlarge. Check out our other auctions for more great MTH and Lionel trains.
