The Central New York Southern Railroad (CNYSR) was a short-lived railway that operated the former Ithaca-Auburn Short Line between Ithaca and Auburn, NY, reorganized from the struggling New York, Auburn and Lansing Railroad in 1914, known for its McKeen motor cars, but faced financial troubles and competition, ceasing main line operations by 1923 and formally abandoning in 1924, with its tracks removed by 1925, leaving behind historic depots like the one in Venice Center.
