Lionel Pre War No 38 Engine New York Central Lines Lionel Prewar Standard Guage. I believe this engine would be a wonderful addition to a train collector's collection. Please look closely at the images before purchasing. This engine most likely had an older restoration - it is showing its age.
It was my husband's father's engine and was passed down to my husband when his dad passed away. We will answer as many questions as possible about it - but might not know every answer. This engine is a Prewar - most likely around the 1920's Lionel Standard Guage #38 Engine in a Red Color with Yellowish-Gold Trim on the windows.
The roof of the train is a form of burgundy - so it has been touched up in the past. As far as we know the bell and the light bulb are original. There is one small dent on the roof the size of a fingernail and it could use a touch up. The wheels turn freely and the engine has been tested and works.
It has been tested and works as we do have a transformer and track which is also listed in our store. The train engine 3 1/4" Wide, 4 1/4" Tall, and about 11 1/2 Long. If you want more pictures or have any questions, feel free to message me. Feel free to take a look at my store as well.
